Acrostic

An acrostic is a type of poem, word puzzle, or writing style where the first letters (or sometimes the last or middle letters) of each line, verse, or paragraph spell out a word, phrase, or message when read vertically.

Key Features:

  1. Structure: Each line or section begins with a specific letter from the chosen word or phrase.
  2. Theme: The acrostic usually relates to the word or phrase being spelled, either directly or thematically.
  3. Creative Use: It can be used for poetry, prayers, educational activities, or even as a fun and interactive way to express ideas.

Example:

For the word FAITH:

  • Forever trusting in God’s plan,
  • Always leaning on His love,
  • In trials, finding strength in Him,
  • Trusting through every storm,
  • Holding fast to His promises.

Acrostics can be both creative and meaningful, making them a popular choice for personal reflections, journaling, or educational projects.
